A company in the U.S., called Hollywog, recently got clearance to sell their new back pain relief devices that use TENS technology: WiTouch & WiTouch Pro. When I initially saw the name of the product, the first thing that came to mind was Nintendo’s Wii … but, it’s a totally different company targeting a totally different segment of our population! According to the press relief, WiTouch is available to the public as an OTC (i.e., “over-the-counter”) product, however, WiTouch Pro can only be obtained via a prescription. The only marked difference I could decipher from reading the product descriptions is that the Pro version has an onboard set of controls for “in-clinic” applications. I’m presuming that after the proper diagnosis of your back pain, the doctor will program the Pro version with the optimal stimuli for your treatment. Anyways, that’s just my hypothesis.
Here are some of the features of the WiTouch device:
- First wireless remote controlled pain relief device using TENS technology
- No known side effects & it’s drug-free
- Professional grade equipment generating 20% higher intensity and having a treatment area that is 2.5 times larger than your standard portable devices
- You can wear the device discreetly under your clothing, for hours of pain relief, due to its lightweight, thin and flexible design
Here’s a cool video from Hollywog about their new product, WiTouch:
You can check out WiTouch and WiTouch Pro at the Hollywog website. It’s hard to say how effective the devices will be as compared to those already in the market, however, it is nice to know that we all have options to seek out relief from our back pain.
