Are Far Infrared Rays (FIRS) something we can use to relieve back pain? Okay, before we can get into that topic, let’s discuss what FIRS are and the mechanics behind it. For starters, FIRS are something we receive from the sun. It’s light in simplistic terms, but we can’t see it. It’s considered a form of electromagnetic radiation. That said, FIR is heat. But as daunting as the word “electormagnetic radiation” implies, FIR is safe … a very safe form of heat.
Unlike ultraviolet rays, FIR does not damage your skin or cause sunburn. And FIR is not to be confused with microwave. It’s just that soothing warmth you receive from the sun. In fact, plants absorb FIR to produce energy via photosynthesis. And moreover, part of the energy we generate are FIRS, and thus, our bodies can respond favorably to the absorption of FIRs as well. When we absorb FIRS, it appears to help the circulation of blood within our body, and thus, enhance our body’s healing process. According to a PubMed (U.S. National Library of Medicine) article … “[t]here is preliminary but high-quality support of FIRS therapy for treatment of NYHA class II and III CHF and systolic hypertension, and there is fair preliminary support for its role in reducing chronic pain.”
There are various products that use FIR technology to help relieve back pain. For those individuals that have office jobs and sit most of the time, there are chair heating pads that use FIR to relieve back pain. It’s a cost effective way to receive FIR therapy. More expensive FIR devices have FIR back lights that are laid out to match the length of the spine, and are portable enough that you can use them while you travel. They also have settings for various temperatures, allowing for a good overall experience for an individual.
FIR therapy for back pain relief is still thought to be an alternative form of treatment, however, as stated earlier, it is supported by medical research regarding its effectiveness on pain relief. And it is critical that you find a product that fits your needs. So always do your due diligence and do your own research to determine if the product is best suited for your needs.
That said, check out this product from The Healthy Back Institute that uses FIR technology to relieve back pain.
