Affordable Ways To Manage Your Health At Home Or On-The-Go

I hope all of you are doing well, especially in these crazy times when we are dealing with COVID-19, social unrest around the nation, and economic uncertainty.  And to have Major League Baseball shortened to only 60 games?  That’s just not right!  Ooops.  So sorry for my dark, gloomy and negative rant.  My bad.  Okay, let’s go for some positive, a feel good and informative article that will serve as a shining light for us in these times.  I’m thrilled that Jackie Waters, a returning guest writer, has provided yet another great article for us, and it is packed with valuable information we can use during these crazy times.  Without further ado, here’s the article.

Whether you’re still sheltering in place or easing back into the world as we learn to live with the COVID-19 virus, you’ll want to take steps to keep yourself healthy. This could be anything from exercising to maintain your weight to getting more sleep so that you feel as good as you look.

If you’re worried about how much it will cost, don’t be. Despite what the media would have you believe, you don’t need expensive diets and monthly health club memberships to keep yourself healthy. The best part is that the following ideas can even help you manage chronic health conditions so that you can face the world with confidence.

Start an exercise routine.

No article on healthy habits would be complete without at least a mention of exercise. Not only is exercise a natural painkiller, it can also help boost your overall energy levels while injecting a healthy dose of hormones into your body that make you feel happy. Don’t know where to start? Try PainFreeOutlet.com’s 7-Day Workout Videos, which covers everything from squats and deadlifts to arm circles and jogging in place.

Learn to manage stress.

Stress is an unfortunate side-effect of the pandemic, according to Boulder Community Health. And while exercise can absolutely squash some of your feelings of anxiety, it is not enough by itself. If you are one of the nearly half of all Americans experiencing some level of stress, there are things you can do to mitigate it so that you can come out of this pandemic with your sanity intact.

Meditation, spending time with friends and family, and even taking up a new hobby are all effective – and free – ways to beat the beast of stress. But, you can also look for a CBD product (a derivative of the cannabis plant, scientifically known as cannabidiol). Unlike marijuana, you won’t feel drugged up; CBD users typically only report feelings of calmness and relaxation as a side-effect.

Get more sleep.

Even if you’re still staying at home most of the time, chances are you are not sleeping as much as you did before March. Unfortunately, failure to get at least seven hours of sleep can exacerbate chronic pain, and it puts you in a terrible mood. As the days become shorter, it’s time to utilize the additional hours of darkness to catch up on your rest.

If you’re having trouble settling in, try going to bed 30 minutes earlier than normal. During this time, avoid television, alcohol, intense conversations, and social media. Make sure to use a pillow that’s right for you, particularly if you suffer with sleep apnea or other conditions that interfere with the restfulness of your slumber. Even if you have to invest a little in the right pillow, it should hold up for a long period of time, and the quality of life benefits are priceless.

Look good, and feel better.

Exercising can help improve your overall physical appearance, but if you need a quick mental boost, consider dabbling in makeup. Although quality skin care products are expensive, Sephora promo codes, cash back through third-party services, and end-of-season sales can help you fit this into your budget. You’ll also want to pay close attention to your skin health, and a daily regimen using an inexpensive cleanser, such as Noxzema, and a non-scented moisturizer, can help you look good when you don’t want to wear makeup.

We’re living in unprecedented times, and those of us with chronic health concerns must be extra careful and learn to balance leading a normal life with keeping ourselves healthy. Exercising, getting enough sleep, and taking other self-care strategies to heart can help you do just that without sacrificing time with the ones you love or skipping out on everything you hold near and dear. What’s more, you can look and feel better without overspending.
